Ohio Hunter Education Course

The Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District staff will be this FREE two-day course, instructor-led course. Participants much attend both days, for a total of about 12 hours, in a classroom environment.

We will offer a lunch break each day. Please bring your own food as there are no nearby restaurant options. Coffee and snacks will be provided. Registration is required by clicking the button below. Enter event passcode: 1000053563
Certified volunteers and MWCD staff will be there to teach the courses. They are specially trained by the ODNR and highly qualified to help you learn. Instructors will cover a range of topics, from conservation, safety, and ethics to the proper handling of shotguns, handguns, bowhunting gear, and more. You should not bring firearms or archery equipment to class - all necessary equipment will be provided.
Once you've completed the course work, you will be given a 100-question test which includes a multiple choice questions. A student must score 75% or higher on the test to pass and obtain certification. Hunter education is a requirement for all first-time license buyers in Ohio, except those who hunt with an apprentice license.
